Early Morning at the Fairgrounds

August 8, 2016, 7:00-11:00am

Oil on Canvas, 10x12

$240.00

This was the first of two paintings I made as a part of the Plein Air at the Fair competition at the Wisconsin State Fair. We arrived at 7am and got to set up our equipment before the crowds poured in. I put my tripod right in the street, and stacked my equipment around the legs to protect it from being tripped over. It started to get hectic and crowded by the time I finished, but I never felt the painting wanted to have all those people in it. It was a quiet painting, yet vibrant. Like a shy person with a great sense of humor.
